Millbrook Community Wind is a proposed wind energy generation facility that is to be majority owned by Millbrook First Nation.  The proposed project is located on private land, approximately 5km southwest of Truro Nova Scotia. Project development will occur over the next few years, and will require a full Environmental Assessment to ensure that the project is developed in a manner compliant with all Federal, Provincial and Municipal requirements and fitting of the biological and cultural surroundings.

The project is proposed under Nova Scotia Department of Energy’s Community Feed-In-Tariff (COMFIT) program, and is anticipated to start construction in 2014.  Once constructed, Millbrook Community wind is  likely consist of three wind turbines, the project is to be co-located with another proposed two turbine wind project Truro Heights Community Wind, which is to be majority owned by Eskasoni First Nation.  Combined the five turbines will generate 10 megawatts.  Over the course of the year these two projects should produce enough energy to power more than 3,300 Nova Scotia homes with stable, local, and clean renewable energy.
